When Plymouth Housing Group needed critical plumbing, HVAC and lighting for their properties, they turned to MacDonald-Miller to complete their energy conservation measures. Projects scope includes: Lighting fixture retrofits with long life fluorescents and LED lamps, lighting fixture replacements with LED fixtures that incorporate motion and daylight sensing controls to adjust lighting levels based on activity and environment, ventilation fan speed control and TAB, bathroom exhaust fan replacements that incorporate motion and humidity sensing controls to adjust exhaust levels based on activity and environment, retrofit existing plumbing fixtures with low flow devices, electric heat pump hot water heaters, and upgraded controls on unit heaters in apartments.
Energy Results
This apartment complex project was a highly successful endeavor and aligned with the conservation programs of Seattle Public Utilities and Puget Sound Energy. It is currently achieving a 62% return on investment from measures completed and was the recent recipient of a Seattle 2030 District Vision Award for the water use reduction goals that were reached.
