Toppenish, WA / 300,000 SF
The Yakama Nation Legends Casino and Hotel project consisted of 4 phases. The hotel scope of work for Phase 1 consists of 200 guest rooms served by vertical fan coil units fed by an air-cooled chiller, a shell and core spa fed by horizontal fan coil units and a pool area. A mechanical room on the top floor of the hotel houses a make-up air unit for the whole hotel as well as large commercial boilers and storage tanks to provide consistent hot water to the building. The new addition to the casino (Phase 2) houses 1,500 slot machines, 19 table games, keno, a poker room and a full-sized commercial kitchen complete with dining area. This casino is served by newly installed custom roof top air handling units with some providing 100% outside air for exceptional smoke control as well as numerous kitchen grade exhaust fans and make up air units.
The 2-story administrative building (Phase 3) contains many different office spaces, an employee kitchen and a warehouse. Custom roof top units serve this area in conjunction with Variable Air Volume (VAV) units in line with the ductwork. The original casino (Phase 4) was remodeled and joined to the newly added casino portion built under Phase 2. Existing air handling equipment was re-purposed in Phase 4. After the tilt panels between Phase 2 and 4 were removed, the systems were re-tested and re-balanced due to both phases became one shared space.
