Capitol Hill Sound Transit Station

The Capitol Hill Station (CHS) is a new light-rail station for Sound Transit’s “U-Link” which extends the current system from Westlake Station to Capitol Hill, then to the University of Washington. The project is located within the Capitol Hill district in the heart of the community, covering three city blocks. The main station has three entrances at street level with a majority of the structure located below ground 55 feet down to the passenger platform. The trains travel through the station’s lowest level which consists of a center platform with both northbound and southbound tracks. The station is expected to carry up to 14,000 passengers daily. Systems include: built-up tunnel ventilation, ventilation fans, highpressure ductwork, acoustical treatment, DDC controls and domestic plumbing.
