Bellevue Clean Buildings Incentive Program
The Bellevue Clean Buildings Incentive Program provides services to support buildings in Bellevue over 20,000 square feet reduce their energy use and operating costs, leverage state and utility energy efficiency incentives, and comply early with the WA State Clean Buildings Standard.
What is the WA State Clean Buildings Standard? In 2019, House Bill 1257 was signed into law to create the WA State Clean Buildings Standard that will lower costs and pollution from energy use in existing buildings. Buildings over 20,000 SF have to comply with the new standard, but the state is providing Early Adopter Incentives to do so by a certain timeframe.
Bellevue wants to help its building owners! The City developed the Clean Buildings Incentive Program, in partnership with MacDonald Miller, to help building owners comply with the new standard and take advantage of the state’s Early Adopter Incentives. The Clean Buildings Incentive Program supports the City’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030 as outlined in the Sustainable Bellevue Environmental Stewardship Plan.
