MacDonald-Miller Earns Fitwel Certification

In July, MacDonald-Miller’s SeaTac office earned a one-star Fitwel Certification, recognizing its commitment to supporting employee health and well-being. The achievement highlights how thoughtful building features, workplace amenities and wellness programs can create a healthier, more engaging place to work.

What is Fitwel?

Fitwel is the world’s leading healthy building certification system, designed to support occupant health and well-being through evidence-based strategies related to physical activity, access to healthy food, indoor environments, community connectivity, and workplace wellness.

Our mission at Mac Miller is to make buildings work better, and we do this for the people in these spaces. The Fitwel Certification for our SeaTac headquarters is representative of these commitments. Not only does this certification recognize how our HQ supports a healthy workplace, it also identified areas we could improve our employees experience. Megan Bellusci, Energy Engineer

Why Fitwel Matters

Pursuing Fitwel Certification reflects MacDonald-Miller’s commitment to creating a workplace where employees can thrive. Fitwel provided a framework for evaluating and improving the features, amenities, and programs that support employee health and well-being at our SeaTac office.

The certification also provides third-party recognition that we apply the same principles of occupant health and building performance within our own facilities that we promote for our clients and communities—reinforcing our commitment to healthier, more sustainable and high-performing workplaces.
