Seattle Children’s Hospital – Building Care
Seattle, Wa / 325,000 SF
The Seattle Children’s Hospital Building Care project includes the construction of a new eight-story hospital facility (325,000 SF) and a 3-story (150,000 SF) underground parking garage. The Forest B building connects to the surrounding buildings on campus through various skybridges and connecting floors. The phased fast-track design schedule for the interior build-out of each floor requires full use of our lean, just-in-time delivery processes. The mechanical systems are state-of-the-art with a focus on resiliency, redundancy, and flexibility to support all program user groups.
Some highlights of this work include Compounding Pharmacy space, Inpatient & Clinical Lab space, Sterile Processing, 10 new Operating Rooms, Cancer Blood Disorder Center floors, and 20 Patient Beds. The Forest B project ties into both of the adjacent Forest A and River buildings on each floor. Approximately 45,000 SF of renovation work includes foundation lobbies, circulation, café addition, and chapel expansion. Patient and life safety is of primary importance and carefully considered throughout each step of the project.
