WINNER: MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions

Seattle

With 612 employees in Washington, MacDonald-Miller is the state’s largest mechanical services firm. It’s also one of the most respected, thanks to a long and successful history of building system retrofits, repairs and service relationships.

But MacDonald-Miller doesn’t just do the work of building improvement. Through its partnerships with organizations such as the Seattle Steam Company, the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, KeyBank and One PacificCoast Bank, MacDonald-Miller has developed innovative financial approaches to help landlords make the investments in large-scale energy efficiency improvements required to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of their office buildings.

The results speak for themselves. Each year, MacDonald-Miller delivers an average of $100 million in efficiency upgrades and services in the Puget Sound region, with clients ranging from the Washington Athletic Club to Highline Community College. Those upgrades save building owners more than $2.1 million and reduce carbon emissions by almost 18,000 metric tons. Not bad for a year’s work.
