A panel of experts focuses on the latest energy conservation requirements
Everyone agrees energy conservation is a worthwhile goal. It lowers utility and maintenances costs, increases property appeal and is better for the environment. But what are the best pathways toward energy conservation? What compliance issues are involved? How is progress being measured?
You can find out, at the December 8th CREW luncheon. This fact-filled event features experts in three vital influences on energy conservation for buildings:
GOVERNMENT – Rebecca Baker, Sustainability Specialist for Seattle City Green Building, will explain the city’s benchmarking program. You’ll discover the benefits of performance tracking and how Seattle is a national leader. Rebecca has worked for the Seattle Design Commission and Design Review Program and holds a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington.
UTILITIES – Holly Townes, a Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Senior Energy Management Engineer will discuss existing building commissioning, plus the funding and support available through PSE’s Resource Conservation Manager Program. Holly has seventeen years of experience in commercial and residential energy efficiency and seven years as a commissioning agent. She is a recipient of the 2007 Better Bricks Award.
REAL ESTATE – Dave Low, a LEED Accredited Professional, is the Director of Sustainable Practices for Kidder Mathews. He’ll present relevant case studies of a range of properties that used PSE, Seattle, and other similar programs. He’ll discuss the challenges and benefits of achieving conservations goals. Dave holds Master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington and in Sustainable Business from the Bainbridge Graduate Institute.
