Women in Construction Week:
We continue celebrating WIC week and the women at MacDonald-Miller who make our company one of the best places to work! Today we’re highlighting Tina Schultz, Service Account Manager in our Portland, Oregon office. (You may have seen her featured in our MacFest employee appreciation video.) Here are a few words from Tina about her experience and recommendation for anyone looking to start a career – and why it should be at MacMiller.
Tina Schultz – Account Manager
How did you get started in the industry? I wanted to become an electrician, but when I applied for the classes I was introduced to HVAC and it seemed like a field with diverse challenges. I took that path and was not disappointed. Every day there is something new to learn. As a Service Account Manager, I address customer concerns & service-related needs and send repairs proposals. I help with billing, warranty work, and maintenance paperwork. While I may address similar issues daily, there can always be a new spin making each project uniquely complex. The problems are always changing. I love that the industry is also constantly changing and adding new technology and training opportunities to take on those changes.
What do you enjoy most about your job? At MacDonald-Miller, we embrace and learn new methods and technologies to keep us ahead of the curve. We give our employees the tools to excel within the company. We recognize individual differences and embrace the diversity of perspectives. We have a culture that I have not found at any other company.
I would tell anyone wanting to join the construction industry, or more specifically the MacMiller team, do it! You will not regret it. We have an amazing, familiar (yet professional) atmosphere. Our different groups within the organization work together for the overall happiness of the customers whether it be internal or external. I feel like all of us love what we do, and who wouldn’t want to work in that environment!
