Committed to the Best

Why work for MacDonald-Miller? At MacMiller, it’s personal. We take our work seriously, and we seriously enjoy working with each other.

We put our employees first because we know they are the company. We appreciate the time, energy, skills, ingenuity, and dedication of every single one of our employees. We show our love and gratitude throughout the year with – our Macfest Employee Appreciation Party, Mac90 Happy Hours, BBQ Events, Softball Teams, Onsite Ping-Pong Tournaments, Health Challenges, Aloha Shirt Fridays, and more.

What does a MacMillian look like? We look for the person who values integrity, creativity, growth, excellence, and community. Someone who believes in our mission to work with each other to make buildings work better. If you are smart and motivated, we want to meet you!

How do we create this company culture? We are not a company of lone rangers. We are a team that wants to work together, sharing knowledge and expertise across departments, to help arrive at one common goal – to be the best in the Pacific Northwest.

Years with MacMiller:
I’ve been with MacMiller for two years, and, to be honest, each day brings with it a great sense of satisfaction knowing that I’m doing important work for the community.

In a bit of hot water:
I will never forget the day I was doing demo on a sink and the angle stop, which had been installed incorrectly by another contractor, came off in my hand.  As I was getting blasted in the face with 120 degree water, I was screaming over the two way radio for Chris Boling to come and save me.  Surprisingly my phone still worked after being submerged in water on top of my Rubbermaid cart.  Good times.

A different kind of nirvana:
I was born in Fargo, ND and grew up in Minnesota.  I play Bass Guitar and when I was 19 I hopped the Amtrak train and came to Seattle seeking Grunge rock star status.  Although that didn’t quite pan out, fortunately my Dad was a plumber and forced me to work for room and board growing up.  And indeed, I love what I do now.

We’re a winning team

Here, nothing is higher priority than creating an environment where employees can craft their own path, embrace technology, expand their skills, and, just as important, be themselves. We are a 2015 Finalist for “Best Places to Work in Washington”, in large part because our atmosphere is one of creativity and camaraderie, where the level of dedication is matched by the amount of fun we have!
